SJTU Swiss Alumni Association Established in Lausanne

On June 29, the inauguration ceremony of the Swiss Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Lausanne, Switzerland. On behalf of SJTU, Vice president Zhang Ansheng, Deputy Director of the Alumni Association Sang Dawei and Liu Jie attended the ceremony. Other attendees included more than 50 alumni who are currently studying or living in Swiss, and representatives of other alumni associations. The ceremony was hosted by Hu Junmei, alumna of the class of 2003.

Sang Dawei read out the Recommended List for the Board of Directors of the Swiss Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The Swiss Alumni Association is the first one with foreign alumni serving as directors, representing its inclusiveness and diversity. The establishment of the Alumni Association provides a new channel for idea exchange and resource utilization.

Zhang Ansheng presented a flag and a letter of appointment to the Swiss Alumni Association. He said that although Swiss alumni is limited in number, their contributions to Swiss industry and academia is eye-catching.


On behalf of the preparatory team, Zhang Luoming reported on the preparations for the Swiss Alumni Association.

As the first president of the Swiss Alumni Association, Zuo Feng emphasized the role of the Alumni Association as a platform for the mutual help of SJTUers.

Finally, in the alumni talk, three entrepreneurs shared their stories, topics varying from the hard powers like techniques and skills, ability to conduct scientific research, and learning capabilities, to the soft powers of job-hunting and living.
